The Functional Neuroanatomy of Pleasure and Happiness
The Functional Neuroanatomy of Pleasure and Happiness
Morten L. Kringelbach, D.Phil. and Kent C. Berridge, Ph.D.

While it remains unclear how pleasure and happiness are exactly linked, it may be safe to say at least that the pathological lack of pleasure, in anhedonia or dysphoria, amounts to a formidable obstacle to happiness. Exciting new insights have been gained while studying sensory pleasures, but many further challenges remain such as to understand how the brain networks underlying fundamental pleasure relate to higher pleasures such as music, dance, play, and flow to contribute to happiness.

It's interesting how much I fear exposure. Maybe it's normal

Thump, against my chest;
Beat me, Heart, break through the bone
Let me be exposed.

It's interesting how much I fear exposure. Maybe it's normal, I wouldn't know, so few people are honest (with themselves, let alone me). But hey, I don't exactly propagate honesty, either, I chronically manipulate people I consider below me. But uh... I'm honest with myself! Ahem. It's not my fault other people don't believe in real psychic power - mind reading, suggestion, etc.

I think part of a spiritual Utopia would have to involve peace with exposure. You will walk like you're dancing, talk like you're singing... That the lines between I and Us would blur. Though, of course, this is just/both a metaphor for a state of being, and a plane of existence. Blah, life.

Exposure: being seen; seeing yourself through their eyes; the opposite of another fear: non-existence. I am a sum of opinions and pretenses, propagated truths and lies, an echo across the super-conscious. Do I only exist in those extensions of myself? Silly.

Exposure: my weapon. Tear down the walls, place a mirror before the shit pile. Exposure: my defence. I am walled in by mirrors, lest I be exposed. Do not see me, my intelligence. Do not fear me, I only want to live in peace. Before you can meet me, you must have met yourself.

What do you think???
This is from someone's journal:

What do you think???

Well, this is kinda weird, But I keep having dreams about people. They are people I know and usually when I have dreams about them, something is wrong. For example, my friends mum is like my own mum, and the other night I had a dream and all I could see was her face adn she was laughing and then she just cried and cried. I found out the next day that she had had a big fight with her husband and it had got ugly.

Also I keep hearing someone calling my name. I will be on the bus, or somewhere busy, or where I am concerntrating (like in the middle of an exam) and I just hear this girl calling me. I'm not sure what it's all about.

So yea, if anyone has any ideas, please comment!

I like that journal and I very like intelligent people...

Previous two posts I've copied from somebody's journal:

I hope it's OK with worded_snapshot...

I've copied it because I like that journal and I very like intelligent people...

Yet, the ones that are not lazy to think

and even live their live (I mean – for real…)…

If you see an interesting wordcombination or unusual interest list while searching or a phrase that draws your attention. Write them down as it is easy to quickly forget.
These are the kinds of things that interest me and I hope interest you too.

It's that kind of hit and miss lists that I feel are easy to exchange and catch thought.

I'd like to create exchanges in those areas of writing,
but I'm always wondering if that works in this style of journaling.

exchanges of the unusual finds of the phrases

Just found a very odd new searching tool on Amazon.com

it's called "statistically improbable phrases" that are listed near the top of the page of some of the books.
It's extremely bizarre, because it picks phrases from the book that I guess are suppose to connect you with other books.
It somewhat seems to work for non-fiction books, but for fiction it can be quite misleading from the phrases
that are picked/highlighted.

I like the oddity of the phrases that it does pick though!
Would anyone else be interested enough in exchanges of the unusual finds of the phrases?

this journal had many examples.
